Hi, I’m Ari

I grew up in Brazil, spending every weekend on my family’s farm surrounded by dogs, horses and just about every animal you can imagine. Those days taught me the things that still shape how I work today: every animal has its own personality, its own routine, and its own way of telling you how it feels, if you take the time to listen.

When I moved to the UK, that love came with me. It started with friends asking if I could look after their dogs and cats, and word spread from there. Before long it wasn’t a favour anymore, it was what I wanted to do with my life. So Alex and I built My Wagging Tail around it 🐾

My curiosity about what’s really going on inside a dog’s head has never let me stop learning. I studied Animal Behaviour and Welfare with the University of Edinburgh, which gave me a deeper understanding of stress signals, body language, emotional needs and welfare standards. I’m also trained in professional pet sitting and dog walking, have completed two CPD-certified courses with Sharon Bolt / Good Dogs, and I’m certified in Pet First Aid and CPR. All so that every dog in my care is in safe, knowing hands 💛

Hello, I’m Alex

Caring for animals has always come naturally to me. I grew up with a variety of pets — from fish and hamsters to cats and dogs — and each one taught me something valuable about patience, empathy and the subtle ways animals communicate.

Over the years, I’ve developed a strong ability to understand their individual personalities, recognise their unique habits, and create an environment where they feel safe, relaxed, and genuinely cared for. Building trust with animals is something I truly value, and it’s what inspired me to turn my love for them into meaningful, professional pet care.

That love for animals led me to train professionally as a dog trainer, qualifying with the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers). Alongside this, I’m trained in professional pet sitting and dog walking and have completed further CPD courses with Sharon Bolt / Good Dogs. It means I can offer structured, reward-based training support to our clients, helping us provide comprehensive care for dog owners across South West, West and Central London.

Q1:Who will be looking after my dog?

Always a familiar face from the My Wagging Tail team. No agency walkers, no packs of strangers. Whoever you meet at your free Meet & Greet is who cares for your dog every single time. Same people, same steady routine, every visit.

Q2:What are your qualifications and experience?

Between us, we’ve spent our whole lives around animals, and dogs have always been at the heart of everything we do. In 2024 we turned that lifelong love into My Wagging Tail, and we’ve been caring for the dogs of South West London ever since.

Along the way, we’ve never stopped learning. We’re IMDT-qualified dog trainers, and we studied Animal Behaviour and Welfare with the University of Edinburgh, which taught us to really see dogs: the subtle stress signals, the body language, the emotional needs behind every wag, lick and lip-curl. It’s why we do things the way we do, and why every walk, stay and visit is shaped around the dog in front of us.

Q4:Why did you start My Wagging Tail?

Honestly, because we couldn’t imagine doing anything else. When we met, we realised we both wanted to build our lives around dogs. Ari grew up on a family farm in Brazil surrounded by animals and by friends who worked as vets, so reading animals and caring for them has always come naturally. Alex is a certified professional dog trainer, always learning more. Between us, dogs (and their feline friends) aren’t a job we clock into, they’re the whole point.

When we moved to Wimbledon, we saw a gap for something more personal: not a big impersonal operation, but the kind of care we’d want for our own dog. Someone who actually knows your dog, follows their routine, and understands what’s going on behind the behaviour. That personal, behaviour-led care is what My Wagging Tail is built on.

Q5:What makes you different from other dog walking, training and daycare services?

Two things, really. First, it’s genuinely personal, your dog gets consistent, familiar care from someone they know, rather than whoever happens to be free that day. Second, everything we do is behaviour-led (more on that just below), which means we’re reading your dog and adjusting to them, not just getting through a walk. No vans, no big groups, no facility. Just calm, attentive, reward-based, science-informed care.

Q6:What does “behaviour-led” actually mean?

It means we don’t just walk or sit your dog, we pay attention to how they’re feeling and what they need. Our background in animal behaviour and dog training helps us spot early signs of stress, read body language, and adjust things so your dog stays comfortable and confident. Whether that’s giving an anxious dog a bit more space, matching playmates carefully by size and temperament, building a nervous pup’s confidence gently, or working on everyday manners and training goals, it’s all reward-based and science-informed. Always at the dog’s pace, never pushed past what they’re ready for 🐾

We’re based in Wimbledon, SW19, and proudly serve Wimbledon and its neighbouring areas, with our pets taking us further afield across South West and West London.

Q8:How do I get started?

Every new client starts with a free Meet & Greet, usually at a local park, so we can get to know your dog properly and you can get to know us. No pressure, just a friendly first hello. Once we’ve all met, booking is quick and easy over WhatsApp, and we’re available 7 days a week, so message us whenever you’re ready. 🐾

Yes, and we kindly ask all clients to read them before booking. Our Terms & Conditions cover everything you need to know, including our cancellation policy, payment terms and what happens in the unlikely event of an accident involving your dog. We were lucky to run into them in Wimbledon and since then Leo’s been with them once a week since he was about 4 months old. We’ve had the daycare services, boarding and group dog walks. Alex & Ari’s updates are amazing, hilarious, and full of info with lots of pics. Leo adores spending time with them and comes home a very happy pup. Last year I travelled to the UK for work and brought him with me. Moti is my everything. I wanted to enjoy a bit of the nightlife but didn't want to leave him alone, so I messaged Ari and she promptly arranged to pick him up. I liked her immediately and was completely at ease knowing he was in safe hands. Ari and her fiancé Alex are genuinely exceptional, they sent me beautiful pictures of Moti and I could see he was definitely having a good time! They clearly have a real passion for what they do. He absolutely loves her! Ari has helped us out for overnight care, check ins, walk and food. She is going to be with our dog when we go on holiday too. We are very happy with the way they care for dogs. We have always returned home to a happy and well settled dog. Ari has always been prompt and detailed with her updates leaving no room for worry. We can actually enjoy our time away because we know our dog is having the best time. She gives him lots of cuddles, play time and training.
