We’re much better with dogs than with introductions
We’ll be completely honest: this was the hardest part of building this website. Ask us to calm a nervous rescue dog, earn the trust of a cat who has decided all humans are deeply suspicious, or spend a morning running across Wimbledon Common with a Labrador who has absolutely no concept of “tired”, easy.
Ask us to sit down and write about who we are? Now that’s a very different story. 🤣 But here’s what we can tell you: we grew up with animals. Not as a work, not as a hobby. As a way of life.
Somewhere along the way, we turned that love into My Wagging Tail Pet Sitting & Dog Walking. A genuine commitment to the wellbeing of every animal in our care, and to the peace of mind of the people who love them. Because we know that life doesn’t always make it easy for dog owners..
Two people, two continents, one shared calling
Ari, your pet sitter and dog walker in Wimbledon, grew up spending weekends on her family’s farm in Brazil, surrounded by dogs, horses, chickens, and more animals than most people meet in a lifetime. 🐴 🐶 🐓 From an early age, that environment taught her something no classroom can fully replicate: how to read animals, respect their pace, and truly understand them. It’s exactly why, for her, caring for animals still feels less like a job and more like coming home.
Alex, on the other hand, grew up in a North London household full of the more conventional kind of pets 🤣 fish, hamsters, cats and dogs. A city boy with a naturally calm and patient soul (the kind of hooman that earns an animal’s trust before anyone else in the room does). The kind that puts a nervous dog at ease simply by knowing when to sit still and let them come to you. (Some of our clients have taken to calling him the dog whisperer. We won’t deny it.) 🤭🐶
To strengthen their knowledge and ensure they provide the highest standard of care, Ari has completed a certified course in Animal Behaviour and Welfare through the University of Edinburgh, covering key areas such as animal behaviour, stress signals, body language, welfare standards, and how to recognise and support the different temperaments and emotional needs that every animal brings. She has also completed a Pet First Aid and CPR certification, because being prepared for the unexpected is part of life.
Alex is currently studying dog training, with the goal of offering structured training support to families across Wimbledon and London in the near future (in the meantime, he is already putting those skills to work every single day with the dogs in their care). 😉 Both fully insured and DBS checked, so you can leave your home and your dog in their hands with complete peace of mind. 🐾
Wimbledon‘s Favourite Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers: How It All Began
When Ari convinced a North London boy to give South West London a proper chance, our mornings quickly fell into a rhythm: long walks through the parks of Wimbledon and Earlsfield, coffee in hand, the occasional street cat deciding to say hello to passing humans, and watching dogs tear around with that particular kind of joy that only dog people truly know.
But those walks also brought something else: a quiet ache that anyone who has ever loved a dog will recognise. Back in Brazil, Ari had left behind Mel: her 13-year-old, magnificently round Chow Chow whose name means “honey” in Portuguese. The greatest dog who ever lived (and before anyone gets sad, she is still very much alive and completely unaware of how legendary she is). Being away from her left exactly the kind of gap that only a dog can leave.
So we did what any sensible, animal-obsessed couple would do: we created a profile on a pet care platform, mostly just to have dogs around again. And then, the bookings kept coming. The word spread. What had started as a way to fill a gap quietly became something we couldn’t ignore.
Months later we were investing in our training, our licences, and eventually in something we are genuinely so proud of: this website, and the business it represents.

My Wagging Tail launched two years ago (2024) and has grown entirely through word of mouth. No paid ads, no gimmicks — just happy dogs and the owners who tell their friends. The way we look after dogs
We welcome all kinds of dogs! Big, small, nervous, bouncy or somewhere beautifully in between. Honestly, we’re far more likely to say no to a human than to a dog. 😄 Every dog deserves a chance, and we genuinely mean that.
To help owners navigate life’s commitments without the worry, we offer: solo and group dog walks, drop-in visits (check-in), daycare at ours, boarding, and house sitting. We always care for a small number at a time. never more than 3. Because quality of care matters more to us than quantity. 😉 Home boarding is always one-to-one, unless your dogs are siblings from the same household.
We keep things calm, unhurried, and genuinely home-like (because we believe that’s what dogs need to truly settle, especially during those first times away from the people they love most).
How to book with us
Booking with us is simple, just drop us a message on WhatsApp and we’ll have a chat about the services you’re most interested in. From there, we’ll arrange a free Meet & Greet, because getting to know you and your dog is just as important to us as it is to you. We usually meet at a park near you or near us, wherever works best. No commitment, just a relaxed first hello. 🐾
Before your pup’s first booking, we’ll ask you to share the details that matter: routines, food preferences, quirks, triggers, and anything else that makes your dog who they are. The more we know, the better!
